Life and Hope for Melissa and Leandro
Every week, the Stanton team is sharing the good news of LIFE and HOPE with women and their families inside the Stanton Mobile.
Recently, Stanton clients Melissa and Leandro visited the Stanton office and shared their story of Hope.
Leandro said that he and Melissa were on their way to Planned Parenthood in Victorville because they believed they were pregnant. Upon entering and asking for a pregnancy test, they were turned away.
As they were driving out of the parking lot of Planned Parenthood, they drove right by the Stanton Mobile Clinic and Melissa said, “We HAVE to turn around and check it out.”
Immediately upon entering the mobile clinic, they were greeted by Barbara, Staff RN and Client Care Advocate. “We felt invited, and she made us feel at home,” said Leandro.
Melissa said, “It felt so welcoming and loving.”
Barbara sat down with the couple, talked through their situation, and found they had struggled with navigating insurance and finding a provider because they had just moved to the High Desert. She was also able to provide a pregnancy test and ultrasound exam on that very first visit, at no charge to the new parents.
The medical care and support Melissa and Leandro received at the Stanton Mobile didn’t cost them a dime! Melissa could have gone months without appropriate early prenatal care thanks to the snags in her insurance, but Stanton made it possible for her to access that critical first visit.
Each day our clinic doors are open we can make a difference in the lives of women and their families. Melissa and Leandro are just one beautiful example of how together we building a Community of Hope!
Melissa and Leandro shared that Stanton and Barbara are a safe haven for them. They were grateful for the persistent help that was given to get into prenatal care and overjoyed by the generous and compassionate care they received from the Stanton team. Leandro continued to say, “Nobody does that for you” and expressed how appreciative they are for Stanton SoCal. As Leandro and Melissa headed home from their visit to the Stanton office, Leandro said, “It is a blessing from God.”
Please prayerfully consider sharing about the ministry work of Stanton Healthcare of Southern California with your church, family, and friends. A personal recommendation is often all it takes for someone new to begin supporting a ministry like Stanton Healthcare, and we are praying for additional monthly donations to expand hours and services.
Together, we bring hope to women, babies, and their families! Thank you for your support.
