A message from Blanca, staff sonographer for Stanton’s Mobile Clinic:

We here at Stanton are blessed to have a bilingual team, and we regularly serve Spanish-speaking clients. When a native Spanish speaker, “Teresa”, stepped into the Mobile recently, she appeared a little bit lost. Thanks to our friends at Love Life, she didn’t enter Planned Parenthood but was guided to the Stanton Mobile instead. Teresa had questions and concerns that were best answered in her native language, so I assured her I knew Spanish and would answer and help her to the best of my knowledge.  

Teresa shared she was new to the country, did not have any family except for her partner, and she was not sure if she could get proper OB care. She also shared she had previously experienced a miscarriage, and therefore felt very uneasy.  

I was able to convey to Teresa how much Stanton cares about her and her family, connecting with her through our shared language. I gave her a pregnancy test, and then an ultrasound where she could see the beautiful flicker of her healthy baby's heartbeat. From that moment, I saw the worry and fear leave her eyes. Teresa expressed her gratitude repeatedly.  

After her ultrasound, we connected Teresa with a local practice to get her started on her OB care. We have remained in contact and have been following up with her, and she is now halfway through her pregnancy. Please pray with me and the rest of the Stanton team for Teresa and her precious baby.  

We are thankful every day to be able to serve women like Teresa who come into the Mobile, whether in English or Spanish!
