Sophie's Journey from Planned Parenthood to Stanton
On a recent day in the Stanton Mobile, a young woman named “Sophie” reminded our team of just how clear the line is between Planned Parenthood and Stanton Healthcare.
We know Planned Parenthood offers abortion (death to a baby and despair to a mother), while Stanton Healthcare offers life and hope. And when the supposed “services” of Planned Parenthood are examined, it’s obvious the abortion giant truly doesn’t care about the well-being of women.
Sophie and her boyfriend entered the clinic while Roxy, our Client Services Coordinator, and Blanca, Stanton’s sonographer, were on duty. Sophie came straight from Planned Parenthood (“PP”) after she received a positive pregnancy test but was told by PP’s staff that they wouldn’t provide an ultrasound. Even though Sophie had been in a car accident recently and wanted to know if her baby was okay, PP’s staff showed no compassion and refused to let her see her baby via ultrasound, because seeing a child on the screen would certainly not help them sell an abortion!
Unsurprisingly, Roxy noted that Sophie was quite frazzled and upset when she arrived at the Stanton Mobile after her frustrating experience at PP. Without any fanfare, Roxy and Blanca invited Sophie and her boyfriend to sit, take a few deep breaths, and tell her story when she was ready. Sophie shared that she had limited family support and didn’t believe motherhood was possible for her. She was concerned about possible effects from the car accident, didn’t have insurance, and didn’t know how to find a quality healthcare provider.
They helped Sophie feel comfortable and safe before offering an ultrasound exam to confirm the pregnancy. Into the exam room went Sophie and her boyfriend, scared of what they might find during the exam.
To everyone’s surprise, Sophie was further along in the pregnancy than expected, and her beautiful baby could be seen moving on the screen! When the heartbeat sound came out loud and clear, Sophie and the baby’s father were struck speechless and began crying.
After the exam, Roxy walked Sophie through the options for prenatal care and insurance. Sophie and her boyfriend left the clinic that day with not only their baby’s first photo, but also peace of mind knowing that Stanton’s team would always be there for them and their baby.
Unlike Planned Parenthood, Roxy and Blanca didn’t dismiss Sophie’s concerns – they listened and responded with real, practical and compassionate care. This is precisely the difference between Stanton Healthcare and Planned Parenthood. We truly love women and their babies, and we exist to share the love of Christ with them and their families during what can be the darkest, most challenging time of their lives.
Sophie is one of our many clients in the StantonCare program, receiving regular follow-ups from our staff. She has chosen life for her baby, and will deliver sometime in August. Please keep Sophie and her family in your prayers!
