Tears on a Sunny Day
One sunny day in November while the Stanton Mobile clinic was open in Victorville, the Stanton team was blessed to serve a young woman in crisis who had walked out of Planned Parenthood in tears.
Jamie, one of Stanton’s client advocates, saw this girl leaving the clinic and ran out of the Mobile to offer our help.
We brought “Leslie” into our safe, welcoming space, and she wept as she told us her story. By the time she had to leave, this young lady didn’t have life completely sorted out - but she thanked us for reaching out, for listening, and for being there. With a big hug, she dashed out the door.
The Stanton Mobile is a haven for precious women like this client.
From pregnancy tests to ultrasounds to a listening ear and a heartfelt prayer - the Stanton Mobile impacts individual lives every time the doors open.
We couldn’t be a safe place for women in crisis without your help.
Thank you.
The day we ministered to Leslie outside Planned Parenthood was also the day we realized our 25-year-old generator had kicked the bucket. The generator on our modified RV is the original unit, and it finally stopped working.
The next day we were open, our dedicated sonographer, Joanna, worked through ever-increasing heat inside the clinic and served 4 clients that afternoon. It can be quite hot on a sunny day in Victorville!
Not only does the Mobile generator power our air conditioning unit, but it also provides power to our portable ultrasound machine. Without a working generator, we are limited to the battery of the ultrasound machine, which only lasts for about 4-5 ultrasounds.
We had no choice but to replace the generator.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Stanton Mobile was in the repair shop.
Our wonderful mechanic at Auto and RV Specialists in Rancho Cucamonga gave us a great deal on the cost of a new generator plus installation: $2,200. Even with their support and generous discount, we still need your help to cover this unexpected cost.
Please help us raise the full $2,200 so we don’t have to dip into our emergency funds!
You can donate online or send a check to P.O. Box 189, Wrightwood, CA 92397. No gift is too small (or large!), and all donations are tax-deductible.
If you aren’t already, please consider becoming a monthly supporter so we can count on your help each month to keep the Stanton Mobile open for women like Leslie!
