Calling all volunteers, crafters, and shoppers!

The Stanton Mobile is steadily progressing toward a spring launch, and we are busy here at Stanton SoCal working to line everything up for a smooth debut!  Read on for updates and urgent needs:

Mobile Wrap

Michael at Tri-Community Auto Body has been busy scraping the old Winnebago decals from the exterior of our Mobile for the past week.  His generosity will keep our brand new wrap free from bumps and lines, for which we are very thankful.  And speaking of the wrap, our anticipated start date on the installation is March 24!  In just a few short weeks, the exterior will finally match the interior – beautiful and inviting.

Upcoming Volunteer Training

Client Advocate Training

This two-day training, along with Pro-Life 101, is required for all client advocates who serve with Stanton SoCal.  Client advocates will counsel clients who are facing an unexpected pregnancy, provide information regarding options of abortion, parenting or adoption, and follow up with the clients after counseling.

When: 6:00-9:00 pm on Friday, May 9 and 9:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 10

Where: Wrightwood

Curriculum: Intimacy Before Impact (by Life International)

What You Need to Do:  RSVP via our online contact form by April 15, as we need to order the appropriate number of training manuals.  Volunteer applications must also be completed and submitted by April 15.

This training is an important step for all our client advocates, but taking the class doesn't obligate you to volunteering with Stanton. Past participants have all said that what they learned in the class has been immensely helpful in all areas of their lives (i.e. communicating with their spouses, children, etc.), but we do hope we can put you on the schedule for the Mobile as soon as it is on the road!

The cost of the training manual is $25.00 and we are suggesting a donation to cover the cost for your manual.

Please note: This training will not be offered again for 6-9 months.  If you are even considering serving as a client advocate this year, please make plans to attend the May training session.

Pro-Life 101

This training session is required for all who would like to serve with Stanton in the Mobile or in any of our community programs.  The training takes just 2 hours of your time, but it will better equip all our volunteers to serve in the unique area of pro-life ministry.

Topics include: articulating the pro-life position, abortion history and types of abortion, sexual integrity, Stanton’s position and perspective on the issues, and a review of important resources for all volunteers.

When: 6:30-8:30 pm on Wednesday, April 9

Where: Wrightwood

What You Need to Do:  RSVP via our contact form by April 1.  Please bring your completed Volunteer Application on April 9 as well!  If you are unable to attend on this date, simply let us know and we are able to schedule additional dates as necessary.

Client Care Donations Needed

Patti is gathering items for Stanton Client Care Packages in preparation for the Mobile’s launch, and you can help!  We want to bless every client who enters the Mobile, and one of the physical ways we can do that is by offering Client Care Packages.  Already, several talented ladies in the community have contributed baby blankets, quilts, booties and hats, and we are so excited to share these sweet items with expectant moms through Stanton.  Please continue to knit and quilt away, friends!

If you are not a crafter but would like to participate in the packages, we also need the following items: $5 gift cards (Jamba Juice, Bath & Body, etc.); small personal care gifts (lotion sets, nail polish, etc.); diapers (newborn); anything else that might bless a Stanton client and fit in a small bag – we will pass it along to the Stanton PRC in Crestline if it does not work for our Mobile packages.  Thank you!
